The Navigators

Great News!

The class filled the Marble Jar again last week. As you know, the class decides the reward. The class made suggestions, voted and elected to have a homework free week. I agreed to this because they have worked hard. They will need to do their reading of a fiction and nonfiction book, though. Also, please remember the research project is due March 1st. Many students are on their first draft and ready to begin their visual to go with their written work.

Mark your calendars for our spring carnival: April 13th! This is the rescheduled fall carnival that was canceled due to weather. Hope to see you there!

The Navigator - February

We have many great things happening in our class and at Dowell. This month we have several field trips, a research project due March 1st, parent surveys to complete and the change over from Social Studies to Science. We will also exchange Valentine Cards for those that are interested. I will include the names of students below. We have 25 students at this time.

A.R. Update: I am very pleased that students are making the weekly goal of a Fiction and a Nonfiction book. Keep in mind, students can write a summary if there is not an A.R. test available. Book Adventure.com has also helped students to have more opprotunity to take tests.

Skills Tutor Web Site: With CRCT getting closer, please look about an previous blogs for the info on a great site to help students review for the test. If you have questions, please let me know.

We will not have a party for Valentine's Day, but students will have time to exchange cards. I will provided bags for students to decorate in class.
