My students and I are reading an incredible book called Soft Rain: A Story of the Cherokee Trail of Tears by Cornelia Cornelissen.  This story is about a nine year old girl and her Cherokee family in 1838.  They and many other Cherokee families are forced out of their homes and begin a long and dangerous journey that would later be called the Trail of Tears.

My students and I have created a fictional blog that depicts the life of Soft Rain according to this book.  Please check it out as we will be adding to it throughout our study.
