Good job for getting this far on your own!  Now for the activity...

You are going to be playing with an interactive funtion machine.  When you go the the site, you are going to first click 'Start'.  Then choose 'Find the Funtion!'.  After you complete 6 function tables, you may try the 'Find the Input' and 'Find the Output' options.  Write down two of the function tables you solved (include the input and output) on a piece of notebook paper.  Please continue to practice with the function machine until I call you back to meet with me. 

*Remember...if you are on any other site besides this one or the function machine, you will lose ALL of your cards*

September 22 - 26

We have our last week for fire safety this week.  Please make sure all assignments are completed in your child's fire safety book so that they will be able to participate when the trucks come.

Academic Alerts went home in Friday Folders (9/19).  Remember that these went only to students who are making below a B in any subject.  If your child did not receive one then they have all As and Bs.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. 

In math, we are still working on multiplying double digit numbers by single digit numbers.  We are also reviewing some of our algebra and finding rules and patterns.

We are back to social studies this week and we are reviewing our map and globe reading skills.  We will have a test this Friday on the information. 

Mrs. Gobbi has been with our class this past week for guided reading and we really enjoyed it!  She worked with us on how to make inferences in our reading.  This week we will continue reading our traditional literature and work more on comprehending what we read.  We are still working on our personal narratives in writing.  Ask your child what favorite memory they are writing about. 

Fall Festival is coming up.  Next Friday (October 3) PTA will be hosting our annual Fall Festival here at the school.  There will be all kinds of fun, and food so please plan to attend.  We will also be having a fitness night along with the fall festival.  There will be PE student teachers from Kennesaw State that will do fun activities with the students, Gold's Gym will have representatives in attendance, and Wellstar will also have representatives there.  It should be a lot of fun!

*Many of you have volunteered to help out in the classroom and I really appreciate it.  I do need to list somone as our official room parent so if you are interested in the job please let me know.  Thanks so much!*

  I want to thank all of you for doing a wonderful job with attendance so far this year.  We have had very few absences and hardly any tardies.  Please keep up the good work!

  In math we are finishing up our graphs this week and working on double digit multiplication.  For your child to be really successful with this, please make sure that you are working on basic multiplication facts at home.  Flashcards are great for this.  You can make these yourself or they are available at most dollar stores. 

  Please remember that even if your child has finished any written homework they might have they still need to be reading for 30 minutes every night. 

  Fire safety begins this week.  We are very excited about having Cobb County firefighters coming to our classroom to help us learn about fire safety.  Your children will be bringing home some homework for this so please make sure that you help them with it and sign off where necessary.  If they don't get their workbook assignments done, they might not be able to go out to see the firetrucks they bring on the last day.
