Welcome to 4th grade!

Dear Parents,

I just want to take a moment to welcome you and your child to 4th grade.  I am excited about taking your child on an engaging, fun journey.  Throughout this year, we will explore exciting topics such as 3-D shapes and algebra in math, weather and simple machines in science, explorers and regions social studies, and new characters through novels in language arts.  Here are some items to keep in mind...

You will be receiving a Cobb County folder that will contain several important forms that will need to be filled out and returned.  Please do so as soon as you can.  It is important that we receive all of these forms back.  There are other forms that are information for you to be aware of.  Please let me know if you have any questions about any of the forms that you receive.

Please send your child with his/her necessary supplies as soon as you can.  All of the supplies listed will be used in this classroom.  If you have a question regarding any of the listed supplies, please let me know.

Your child will be allowed to bring a snack everyday to school.  Please help your child select nutritious choices that will sustain his/her energy.  She may also bring a water bottle to use throughout the day.  I encourage the use of water bottles since it eliminates the need to leave the room for water.

Your child will be given an agenda.  The agenda is a tool to be used to develop organizational skills.  Students will be required to write their assignments in their agenda every night.  They are also responsible for showing their agenda to you and returning it signed by you the next day.  Any day that the agenda is not signed will result in missing half of recess that day.  The agenda is a great way for you to know what your child is responsible for.
