  • Telling time to 5 minutes
  • Plural nouns & possessive nouns (ex. singular possessive: the boy's coat/plural possessive:  all of the boys' coats)- It is very easy for students to get these  concepts mixed-up.  Thanks!

Spelling Assessment

There will be an assessment this Friday (tomorrow) on list 17 words located in the back of the 2nd Grade Handbooks.   Start studying list 18 after tomorrow's test.

Language Arts Skills & Vocabulary –  subject, predicate, noun, verb, pronoun

Skills to review for CRCT: 

  • using possessive nouns correctly (ex. a boy's coat -all the boys' coats)
  • using possessive pronouns (his, mine, etc.)
  • homonyms (I wind my watch.  The wind is blowing.)
  • singular & plural nouns
  • writing a paragraph with a main idea, supporting, supporting details, and correct capitalization/punctuation

Thanks to our wonderful room moms for a great holiday party and to everyone who helped put our holiday celebration together.  The students had so much fun making crafts & parent gifts and then celebrating at the party.  We couldn't have done it without your help.  Your children & I appreciate everything!!!
