Spelling Assessment
There will be an assessment this Friday (tomorrow) on list 16 words located in the back of the 2nd Grade Handbooks. Start studying list 17 after tomorrow's test.
Reading Vocabulary – fable, poem, passage, author's purpose (entertain, inform, persuade)
Language Arts Skills & Vocabulary – subject, predicate, noun, verb, pronoun
Skills to review: using possessive nouns correctly (ex. a boy's coat -all the boys' coats), using possessive pronouns (his, mine, etc.), homonyms (I wind my watch. The wind is blowing.), singular & plural nouns, writing a paragraph with a main idea, supporting, supporting details, and correct capitalization/punctuation
Math Skills and Vocabulary - fraction, part, whole, numerator, denominator

Thanks to our wonderful room moms for a great holiday party and to everyone who helped put our holiday celebration together. The students had so much fun making crafts & parent gifts and then celebrating at the party. We couldn't have done it without your help. Your children & I appreciate everything!!!
