Journey Into Language Arts-Go For The Gold ! We are moving from persuasive writing to informational (expository writing). In addition, students will be focusing on the conventions of grammar as we get closer to the Georgia Writing Assessment early next year!
*This week we will focus on nouns, pronouns, adjectives, and adverbs. We also will continue to practice our prepositional phrases.
*In our daily Six Plus One activities we will focus on organizing our writing.

We are continuing our work with changing fractions to decimals, decimals to fractions, comparing and ordering fractions, finding equivalent fractions, and simplifying.
We are also conceptualizing improper fractions, mixed numbers, and adding and subtracting fractions with like/unlike denominators.

Our unit beginning November 3 in science will focus on cells and microorganisms. Please see the following:
Parts of a Cell
Compare/contrast parts of a plant/animal cell.
Summarize the functions of plant/animal cells.
What an animal and plant cell looks like under a microscope.
Explain the role and function of cells as the basis for all living things.
Use a microscope to observe, illustrate, and label a plant and animal cell.
Label the organelles of an animal cell (membrane, cytoplasm, and nucleus) and state the function of each.
