Happy New Year!
Welcome back to Kindergarten! We are so excited to be back!
We are off to a great start! The children are really taking off with their reading and writing. This week we talked rocks in science. The children wrote sentences about their rock. We also wrote a class story. It was a descriptive paragraph about a snowman. Next week your child will make a snowman and write their own descriptive story about it. Can your child describe something in your home? Please guide them to identify descriptive words such as the size, color, etc.
We learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday. Your child has homework. They are supposed to show you his picture that they colored and tell you his name. They are supposed to tell you what he believed in (Peace) and what kind of language we use at Dowell to solve conflict.("I Care Language").
Please do not forget Monday January 15 is the M.L.K. Holiday.
This has been a very week! We will have more to tell you about next week.
